The Inital Line: Barriers, Bugging, Spot Bowling, No-Seeums, Lining Bias
In this podcast, we discuss training drills for working on lining with confidence.
As a handler you need to "spot bowl" with your retriever's spine, eyes, and nose perfectly focused on a spot in line with the distant blind destination.
Barriers and no-see-um blinds are setups that your retriever should be exposed to in advanced lining.

Here is an example where I am lining cold blinds to round hay bale targets. Note in the last video clip I put an orange piece of tape on the ground in line with tthe distant blind, I push/pull the retriever until his nose is lined over that tape "spot bowling'" to line the cold blind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfEixrahr0M
